The Sand Bothy
Balmedie Country Park, AB23 8XG Aberdeen
Living in the North-East of Scotland, there is something wild and untamed about the North Sea. The undulating sand dunes, wind-swept marram grass, and sandy beach will be our inspiration for this unique tapestry workshop at the newly opened «Sand Bothy» in Balmedie. Why not join us for a creative afternoon with like-minded individuals, a nice cuppa and letting your mind be transported by the beautiful coastline of Scotland.

Woven wall hangings are making a major comeback in the last few years as an alternative to traditional framed wall art. With simple easy-to-use tools and instructions, join Le Petit Moose and learn how to make your own handwoven wall hanging. Spend some time working with beautiful fibres and indulge in the meditative art of weaving.

During the course of the workshop, you'll learn how to warp your loom, weave, creating texture, adding fringe and finishing techniques. This class is ideal for beginners as no prior weaving experience is needed. All materials and yarns will be provided, although if you do catch the weaving bug and would like to explore this craft further, there will be an opportunity to purchase a Le Petit Moose frame loom weaving kit after the class.
