BACHA's first official event! Dr Fiona-Jane Brown, founder of the Bon Accord Civic Heritage Association will be giving an informal talk on Torry's ancient and varied history, focusing on the first fishing community swept away in 1872 due to a diversion of the River Dee, and the «Old Torry» of the Victorian era, demolished in 1972 to make way for oil services. Including a focus on Torry's significant buildings, some gone, (Balnagask House, Torry Picture Palace) and some nearly gone (Victoria Road School), and those still in place (Torry Library) and how the folk did their best to educate themselves and their children.

Followed by tea/coffee and «fine pieces».
This event is FREE due to the generous hosting of it by the Old Torry Community Centre, but we would ask that you consider making a minimum donation of £2 to cover the refreshments and venue hire. (All monies go to the OTCC)

Doors open 10.45am;
Talk duration: approx 1hr, followed by time for questions and refreshments
